Job Title: Cloud Systems / DevOps Engineer

Location: London

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Our client is a fast growing and award winning company based in London's Tech City, Shoreditch.

The company is seeking an adaptable and able Cloud Systems/DevOps Engineer to help develop and support the company's data/systems infrastructure including large cluster computers used for parallel processing, cloud and storage. The primary responsibilities of the position are the implementation and maintenance of the company's cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation and configuration of software for cloud operations
• Documentation of configuration and installation procedures and processes
• Create and delete user and project accounts as appropriate
• Responsible for the availability, security, access, backup, and performance of the cloud architecture
• Create tools for reporting system usage
• Perform system monitoring and diagnose and correct system problems
• Analysis, evaluation, and implementation of systems and network configuration and security tools

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Required:

• In-depth knowledge and experience with Linux system administration
• Experience configuring and using hypervisors and container engines, such as Docker, OpenVZ, and Google Compute Engine
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Saltstack, and Chef
• Experience with configuration and maintenance of systems and network monitoring software
• Ability to deploy Open Source Cloud systems such as Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, AWS, or equivalent
• Knowledge of technologies including: MySQL, Mongo, Docker, Apache, Nginx, Jenkins, Git
• Experience with management and configuration of SMTP servers such as exim4
• Knowledge of networking for virtual machines, particularly with regard to security and performance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work closely with other professionals in a team environment
• Ability to work a variable work schedule, and occasionally work outside normally scheduled work hours including day, night, weekend and/or holiday hours, as directed.
• Experience with information security management methodologies, such as system hardening, network scanning/penetration testing, and data compliance

Preferred:

• Experience with High Availability (HA) computer systems.
• Experience conducting independent research and analysis
• Experience interacting with researchers from different disciplines

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years' experience required in Linux system administration
• You will hold a Computer Science degree
• Programming in languages such as shell scripting, Python, Ruby, Javascript, Java, PHP
• Systems integration
