Due to expansion, we are immediately seeking Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Maintenance Engineers in the Leicester area. We desire flexible and committed individuals, with some form of previous practical
mechanical engineering or electrical experience being advantageous, although not essential. The successful candidate will possess a strong work ethic, operate with a keen attention to detail, have excellent communication skills and be comfortable submitting electronic reports (training will be provided on our operating system). They must also be comfortable working off their own initiative, to tight timescales, working with other engineers and be comfortable following instruction. They will possess a “can-do” attitude and enjoy working amongst our existing team of service, maintenance and apprentice engineers.

IRS carries out Service, Maintenance and Installation works on Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment at many sites across the Midlands region and beyond. We look after a vast range of equipment from Industrial Process Cooling to Small Commercial Equipment. Approximately 80% of our contracted sites are located within a 50-mile radius of our head office (Bromsgrove), with a number of sites under contract with guaranteed response times in locations further afield such as Liverpool, Barnsley, Gloucester, Bath, Milton Keynes, and Leicester.

Our current portfolio of contracts we service range vastly from small commercial businesses (split a/c systems, process water chillers, kitchen cabinets and coldstores, etc) up to large commercial and industrial businesses (food production cooling, large scale cold storage, large building air conditioning, hospitals, universities, etc).

In the main, the role will be one of carrying out routine maintenance of commercial Refrigeration & Air Conditioning equipment, to include full reporting. There will be occasions where assistance will be provided to service engineers to assist with breakdowns, service repairs and/or installations. Due to the nature of our industry, specific qualifications will need to be achieved, and training will be provided to achieve these if not already possessed. This will include:-
  • CITB F-Gas Refrigerant Handling
 • CITB Essential Electrics for electrical safety
 • PASMA - Towers and Mobile Lifts
 • IPAF License - Scissor Lift / Self Propelled Boom
 • CITB HS&E Specialist HVACR Test (RAAC)
 • Ladder Association Safe Use & Inspection of Ladders

A company vehicle will be provided. Maintenance of the vehicle would be the responsibility of the employee to ensure correct service intervals are maintained. Obviously, the company would cover all running costs. Should we feel a vehicle is being misused, we reserve the right to recover maintenance repair costs from the employee.

A company mobile phone and tablet laptop would also be provided which can be used for private use (usage limitations do apply).

Holiday entitlement will be 20 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 25 days following 2 years completed  service. Holiday dates would be as mutually agreed. In the event of illness IRS will pay at 70% of basic daily salary, however, this is a discretionary payment and would be reviewed if considered inappropriate. The sick pay rate is reviewed on a regular basis and depending on attendance, the standard rate may be reviewed.

IRS hold annual individual appraisals where we review performance, feedback, training and individual development. These meetings may be on a more regular basis depending on the individual and their specific circumstances in order to track progress and identify ongoing training needs.

Incentives / Bonus Schemes in Addition to Salary

After completing a successful 3-month probationary period, a Stakeholder Pension of 5% of Basic Salary would be offered, assuming you wish to match our contribution.

Should you introduce a new employee to the company, on successful completion of their 3-month probationary period, you would be awarded with a £300 bonus.

We pay commission for any new customers introduced to the company and individual projects within our current client base, where the employee’s intuition has been pivotal to securing the contract.

We also offer additional payments on occasion in circumstances where an individual has helped us out or gone above and beyond what is generally to be expected.
