Due to expansion, we are immediately seeking experienced engineering staff in the Leicester area. We desire flexible and committed individuals who are motivated to work on a wide variation of Refrigeration
and Air Conditioning equipment, having a bias towards fault finding and service repairs, possessing a “can- do” attitude, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within our existing team of service, maintenance and apprentice engineers.

IRS carries out Service, Maintenance and Installation works on Refrigeration and Air Conditioning equipment at many sites across the Midlands region and beyond. We look after a vast range of equipment from Industrial Process Cooling to Small Commercial Equipment. Approximately 80% of our contracted sites are located within a 50-mile radius of our head office (Bromsgrove), with a number of sites under contract with guaranteed response times in locations further afield such as Liverpool, Barnsley, Worksop,  Gloucester, Bath, Milton Keynes, and Leicester.

Our current portfolio of contracts we service range vastly from small commercial businesses (split a/c systems, process water chillers, kitchen cabinets and coldstores, etc) up to large commercial and industrial businesses (food production cooling, large scale cold storage, large building air conditioning, hospitals, universities, etc).

Duties will include routine planned preventative maintenance (from small commercial plant maintenance,  up-to and including compressor tophead overhauls, oil changes, etc), service repairs, breakdown   attendance/fault diagnosis and occasional installation of new plant.
24 HR callout facility is offered to our contracted customers. At present, our engineers take daily turns in providing cover, currently 1 day in 9.

A company vehicle will be provided. Following a period of time with the company there would be a choice of vehicle at time of renewal - this tends to occur following 1-2 years completed service. Maintenance of the vehicle would be the responsibility of the employee to ensure correct service intervals are maintained.   Obviously, the company would cover all running costs. Should we feel a vehicle is being misused, we   reserve the right to recover maintenance repair costs from the employee.

A company mobile phone and tablet laptop would also be provided which can be used for private use
 (usage limitations do apply).

Holiday entitlement will be 20 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 25 days following 2 years completed   service. Holiday dates would be as mutually agreed. In the event of illness IRS will pay at 70% of basic daily salary, however, this is a discretionary payment and would be reviewed if considered inappropriate. The sick pay rate is reviewed on a regular basis and depending on attendance, the standard rate may be reviewed.

After a probation period of 3 months we would review the initial employment period, after which a formal contract of employment would be offered, assuming both parties are satisfied. The issue of a contract
would be subject to 2 written references.

IRS hold annual individual appraisals where we review performance, feedback, training and individual development. These meetings may be on a more regular basis depending on the individual and their specific circumstances in order to track progress and identify ongoing training needs.

Incentives / Bonus Schemes in Addition to Salary
After completing a successful 3-month probationary period, IRS offers a contracted Engineers Performance Related Bonus Scheme which is highly achievable. Bonus payments are made up to £1,000 per qualifying period, twice per annum. The qualifying criteria for the bonus is based on compliance within set parameters such as attendance, worksheet/timesheet/systems performance, tool/vehicle/stock accuracy and condition.

Again, after completing a successful 3-month probationary period, a Stakeholder Pension would be offered.

Should you introduce a new employee to the company, on successful completion of their 3-month probationary period, you would be awarded with a £300 bonus.

We pay commission for any new customers introduced to the company and individual projects within our current client base, where the employee’s intuition has been pivotal to securing the contract.

We also offer additional payments on occasion in circumstances where an individual has helped us out or gone above and beyond what is generally to be expected.
