Part Time Probate Advisor

Will Drafters Ltd was established in 1990. In that time we have written well over 100,000 wills for our clients. For some of our clients we are sole or joint executors while others will have appointed their own family as Executors.  At the time of death, in addition to making the Will available to the appropriate person(s) our Probate Department will, as part of our service, offer practical help and advice at what can be a very difficult time for those left behind. This advice may be given in correspondence, email or by telephone and where required through a home visit. Full training  will be provided.

We are currently recruiting Probate Advisors to join our friendly small team primarily for the Home Visit work North of the Thames and/or South of the River.

The part time working hours are flexible to suit your week and can vary on busy and quiet weeks according to the number of appointments that are booked for you. Your hourly rate is £9.80+ bonus + mileage allowance and telephone allowance. You will paid for travelling to and from the appointment.  Also there are 5 weeks holiday pay including statutory Xmas and bank holidays. If required, extra weeks' holiday can be requested on an unpaid basis.

Our Probate Department will book appointments with the Executor(s) at their home (or on occasions at our offices in Thornton Heath, Croydon, Surrey). You will normally have appointments during the days that you want to work during Monday to Friday (and on the odd occasion an evening or Saturday morning). Each Advisor carries an ID card with their name, photo and business card. This is worthwhile work with an ethical commercial component.

We are looking for advisors who have some sales experience or have experience dealing with the public on a face to face basis. You need to be sympathetic and understanding as you will be providing people with practical advice at a difficult and distressing time. You will be offering options to help clients make the right choice regarding the administration of the estate and promoting use of our Probate Services.

You will complete Probate Information forms in order to establish the details of the deceased's estate from all the paperwork and documents that the executors, next of kin, family, or friends have gathered together. This is essential in order to establish the size and complexity of the estate. Home visits usually last about 1-2 hours. Will Drafters Ltd also provide a full service whereby we organise house clearance, an inventory if required and sale of a property.
