Senior Laboratory Technician

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Lab Technician to join the world’s largest producer of printing inks, pigments and functional coatings. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our global centre of excellence in Rochdale. You will be at the forefront of cutting edge technology helping our client to remain the world leader in the production of inks, pigments and functional coatings. 

About you:
The successful candidate will have the following background: 

•    A minimum of five good GCSE grades (A* - C) with an emphasis on science subjects plus some experience of working in a laboratory or a degree in Chemistry, Physics or a related discipline.
•    Good verbal, organisational and written communications skills.
•    Proven experience of working within a relevant or similar role.

The Role
Working as part of a laboratory based team, on the support and maintenance of existing products and on the development of new products with the minimum of supervisions, and providing guidance and help to junior members of the team.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Follow all appropriate procedures effectively and perform all appropriate tasks within set timescales and to set standards
•    Carrying out testing to defined standards to tolerance of sample products and raw materials
•    Testing to resolve problems across the specific product or application area, including an understanding of raw materials, ink chemistry, printing applications and technologies
•    Ensuring that all data is recorded accurately and documented to a high standard and in a timely fashion
•    The safe and effective use of equipment and machinery within set requirements and procedures
