Project Leader

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Leader to join the world’s largest producer of printing inks, pigments and functional coatings. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with excellent Project Leadership skills to work leading teams at the forefront of cutting edge technology helping our client to remain the world leader in the production of inks, pigments and functional coatings work within their laboratory teams in Rochdale.  

About you:
The successful candidate will have the following background: 

•    A degree in Chemistry/Physics or a related discipline
•    Proven experience of project leadership/management in a scientific field or area, preferably KT Project Management
•    Good verbal, organisational and written communications skills.
•    A broad understanding of formulating principles
•    Be able to contribute to the development of, or personally develop specific products to meet business requirements
•    Have extensive knowledge of printing ink and coatings technology including fault finding, testing, analysis and resolution identification
•    Be able to provide accurate and timely reports on key issues, key statistics and potential improvements on a regular and ad hoc basis as required

The Role
This role is responsible for the delivery and development of high quality and innovative products and contributing to product development programmes to meet business needs and within agreed deadlines. To maintain current product ranges ensuring compliance, changes when necessary, material understanding and formulation cost savings. As project Leader you will significantly contributes to the technological knowledge, understanding and learning or your team.

Key responsibilities include:

•    Working closely with Technicians and Chemists in leading and overseeing projects in research and development of new innovative products
•    Overseeing projects to meet the demand of customer change and innovation
•    To help and develop the scientific skill levels of teams working within the projects
•    To Manage workload of teams working across the projects
•    Accountability of project progress, including regular communication with leadership teams and customer teams on progress updates
