Salary: £27,500 - £33,000 (OTE £57,000)

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing innovation management consultancy offering new approaches to support the development and commercialisation of advanced science and technologies.

They are currently looking for a talented individual to join their bid writing team. As an experienced Bid Writer, your role will involve preparing and co-ordinating grant funding and tender submissions (primarily on behalf of their corporate clients, but also for the consultancy).

They are looking for someone with bid writing experience, preferably within a technology based sector. You will deliver high-quality grant and tender responses, securing innovation funding for their clients. This varied role will involve researching, writing, editing and reviewing grant / tender material and co-ordinating contributions from clients / partners. The ideal candidate will have commercial experience and the skills and passion for gathering, understanding and presenting complex scientific, technical and market information in a clear and concise manner.

Key responsibilities include:
- To grow and maintain the Company's portfolio of contracts through the preparation of grant funding applications and tender submissions.
- Working closely with our clients to understand their product development and business aspirations and translating these into fundable concepts.
- Creating winning documentation that accurately reflects the company / client, to a standard that ensures that completed applications meet the grant / tender brief and guarantees the best possible chance of success.
- Professionally tailoring the grant funding applications / tender responses to the precise requirements of each individual customer (and funding body) by use of extensive market intelligence research, liaison with key stakeholders, working on own initiative in a pressured deadline driven environment.
- Objectively appraising responses, to add and edit information as necessary in order to structure an effective response.
- Ensuring that at all times the content and details included in submissions are to a high quality and maintains the high standards and reputation of the consultancy.
- Developing and managing relationships with potential and existing clients with a view to securing new / repeat business.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:
- A strong technical degree.
- Proven exposure to a bidding environment (previous experience of writing proposals for Horizon 2020, FP7 and Innovate UK would be an advantage).
- Strong team player but able to work on their own on key bids and projects.
- Well organised, self-starting with excellent attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal.
