MRC - Laboratory of Molecular Biology - Cambridge

Starting Salary £15,170

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HR Assistant Apprenticeship within the Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB).

The LMB has a unique working environment with an outstanding reputation as a world-class research institute engaged in fundamental molecular research, and working to translate discoveries into improvements in health care. Over the last 50 years, 14 of its scientists have been awarded a Nobel Prize.

You will become a key member of our Human Resources team. Providing professional and proactive general administrative support to the Human Resources (HR) Department.

The Apprenticeship will provide you with an opportunity to gain HR and Administration experience and key transferable skills through working in our busy and dynamic department. You will also gain an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Business & Administration through Cambridge Regional College.  This will primarily be delivered and assessed in the workplace.

It is essential that you demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, are self-motivated, have an attention to detail and have the ability to use your own initiative. Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 GCSE grades A-C, including Maths & English, or hold equivalent qualifications. Apprenticeship candidates cannot hold a Level 4 qualification or above. You will be computer literate and should ideally already have some administrative or customer service experience.
