On-Call Manager  - Part time, Supplement your current income or further develop your care skills

We are looking for a caring On-Call Manager to join our Nash Homecare team. This role will require you to primarily work from home in the evenings and alternate weekends to provide out of hours administrative cover and making client visits if necessary.  Areas we cover are Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted and Tring

The days and hours for this position are:

  • Weekdays 4pm-8am
  • Weekends: Friday 4pm to 10pm; Saturday 6.30am to 10pm; Sunday 6.30am to 10pm; Monday 6.30am to 8am

Main responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and checking bookings for the evening, morning, weekend
  • Take emergency calls from clients and carers
  • Cover short notice absences or emergency situations by ringing / texting carers
  • Updating clients of anything that may impact their visits
  • Communicating in professional manner with carers, clients, clients’ families, hospital staff
  • If unable to cover shifts go out to work shifts to ensure visits are completed (in all areas)
  • Verifying that all carers working later shifts are home safely
  • Sending daily update emails regarding on-call activity and changes to office team
  • Organise handover of on-call material
  • Complete all on-call paperwork in an accurate and timely manner

Skills required:

  • Must be drivers with access to a vehicle to cover care calls at short notice
  • Ideally previous experience working in care
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Have excellent listening and communication skills – verbal and written
  • Be confident with mobile working (smart phones and tablets) and emails
  • Open to receiving feedback and further training
