The role of Trainee Accountant

Finance is a core part of all businesses and is more than simply reporting numbers, it is about helping inform decisions and deliver value. This role is no different.  Reporting to the financial controller, this trainee accountant role forms an essential part of the day-to-day running of the finance team. You will have interaction with staff at all levels within the business. This is very exciting time to join the company and team at eve.

Core Responsibilities

• Completing monthly reconciliations of the general ledger and subsidiary ledgers including trade debtors and trade creditors
• Regular bank and cash reconciliation, as well as supporting analysis of cash flows
• Responsible for the accurate processing of invoices and ensuring timely payment as they fall due, and acting as a point of contact for key suppliers.
• Managing the trade debtor ledger – ensuring its completeness, accuracy and timely collection of debts
• Preparing month end journal entries for P&L and balance sheet, including costing allocations
• Review accuracy of information required for all financial transactions on an ongoing basis
• Balance sheet reconciliation for sign off by financial controller
• Assisting in improvement and maintaining financial controls
• Ensuring all company taxes, including VAT (UK & International), PAYG and NI are paid and filed on time and accurately
• Expense claim process management and credit card reconciliations
• Ad hoc projects as required
