Our client is a premium supplier of high integrity forged products to quality markets globally. They have created a fully integrated metals service centre which has grown to be a leading provider of open-die quality forgings, making safety critical components in service conditions from the deepest oceans to outer space. Their flexibility and scale of operations means that they can provide both highly specialised “one-off” forgings as well as volume production.

They now have an excellent opportunity for a Certification and Testing Officer to join their Quality Department at their office in Sheffield.

You will be responsible for the reviewing document packs to allow for the accurate production of Certificates of Conformity, you will be the release signatory. With your experience and/or education in materials, metallurgy and material specifications you will review the technical and material specifications that are required with regard to mechanical testing.  You will draft the test order templates and will assist with drafting mechanical test orders to the approved test houses and collate the results with the correct order on a timely basis.

In order to be successful in this role, it is essential that you have an understanding of quality systems, ideally experience working to aerospace standard AS9100 and a wide range of Material Specifications, you should have an ability to decipher test house certificates. You will need an excellent attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and competent working knowledge of Excel, Word and other windows based data systems.

Basic knowledge in internal quality audits would be useful as would experience in collating FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports).

Working across the business and with external suppliers and customers you should have excellent communication and liaison skills and a flexible and proactive approach.
