Back-End Developer / PHP Developer

This is an opportunity to join a digital creative agency who specialise in designing, developing and marketing websites for a wide range of clients. Their office is based in Eastcote, West London with accessible transport links and are a stone throw away from Eastcote Underground Station and major bus stops. There are a number of restaurants and takeaways on the high street so you will always find that much needed coffee fix first thing in the morning or something to eat during lunch. Their office offers colleagues a relaxing yet motivated atmosphere with the opportunity to work on multiple exciting projects.

They are looking for an experienced Back-End Developer to join their team. You will be responsible for the server side of their web applications and websites.

If you have excellent programming skills and a passion for developing web websites or improving existing ones, they would like to meet you! As a Back-End Developer, you'll work closely with their Website Designers and Front-End Developers to ensure system consistency and improve user experience.

Ultimately, you should be able to develop and maintain functional and stable web applications and websites to meet their client's needs.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in the entire application life-cycle, focusing on coding and debugging
- Write clean code to develop functional web applications and websites
- Troubleshoot and debug applications
- Perform UI tests to optimise performance
- Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve legacy applications
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic
- Gather and address technical and design requirements
- Liaise with developers, designers and system administrators to identify new features
- Follow emerging technologies

Skills And Qualifications:
- Desire to learn and drive to advance career in development
- Proven work experience as a Back-End Developer
- In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)
- Proficient knowledge of PHP and MySQL
- PHP MVC framework experience - ideally with Symfony 2-3
- Proficient understanding of code version tools, such as Git
- Familiarity with front-end languages (e.g. HTML, JavaScript and CSS)
- Excellent analytical and time management skills
- Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude
- BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field

Monday - Thursday: 9am to 6pm
Friday: 9am to 5:30pm
