The Mobile Design team has an opening for an experienced Analog IC Design Engineer to support the development of highly integrated power module systems (PMICs) for smart phones and tablet systems. The position is based in Intersil's Harlow UK Design Center.

Primary Responsiblities

Based in Harlow, Essex and working with colleagues in Milpitas California, to participate in all aspects of the development of analog and mixed signal integrated circuits, including:

·         Product definition and architectural development

·         System and component level simulation and design validation

·         Layout and verification

·         Prototype evaluation

·         Test specification development and Test Engineering support

·         Product release

·         Application Engineering and Marketing support

Education, Knowledge and Skill Requirements

A successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • A good working knowledge of BiCMOS or CMOS technology
  • Product knowledge in the following areas:
  • Feedback control systems and compensation techniques
  • High performance LDO
  • High current, rail to rail CMOS op-amps
  • A working knowledge in the following areas:
    • Integrated pulse width modulated (PWM) power controllers with an emphasis on buck, boost, inverting or non-inverting buck-boost topologies
    • Regulated or unregulated charge pump circuits
    • verilogAMS coding targeted at  functional verification
    • RTL coding skills
    • Familiarity with Cadence mixed signal design tools
  • BSc or BEng (or equivalent) in Electrical or Electronic engineering (or similar), MEng preferred
  • Experience within a semiconductor company in analog or mixed signal IC design
  • Good understanding of customer and market requirements
  • Ability to work as part of a team and with low levels of supervision

Language Skills: Excellent written and verbal English language proficiency required

Salary Range: up to 50.000-80.000 GBP annual gross base salary
