This is an opportunity to join the UK's largest Recycling & Resource Management Company, with a reputation for innovation and creativity in their industry.

As a result of continuous growth, an opportunity has arisen within their Industrial and Utilities Division which specialises in the Treatment of Hazardous Waste, Industrial Cleaning and Pipeline services for an ambitious individual to join their Technical Department.

A brief description of the position is provided below:

Laboratory Chemist
This position works within their hazardous waste treatment within their on site laboratory as well as technical service work off site. The responsibilities include:

- To carry out all laboratory testing in accordance with company procedure
- To carry out laboratory calibrations in accordance with company procedure
- To carry out any research and development function as instructed by the technical manager.
- Work alongside other members of the team on various practical research projects and trials.
- To carry out administration of technical paperwork including waste acceptance, CoSHH and procedures in line with current environmental legislation.
- To help maintain a clean, tidy and organised laboratory
- Sorting and segregation of waste chemicals on customer sites
- Practice a responsibility and awareness for health and safety at all times. Ensuring a safe environment for all staff and visitors to site.
- Any other duties as instructed by the Technical Manager.

Qualifications/Experience:
To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate good communication skills and working on your own initiative whilst also having the ability to work as part of a team. Candidates must have a chemistry background.

A professional 'can-do' attitude is required to deliver the level of service their customers have come to expect from the group. This will include good time keeping, an impeccable attendance record, continued personal development under guidance from the technical manager and also have the ability to work within their stringent QSHE standards.
