Our client is a market-leading manufacturer of home improvement and construction products. Based in South Yorkshire with National operations their business has a turnover of circa £22m and currently sells into the B2B and Commercial markets. The business is privately owned and the owners are eager to work with, and share rewards with, high achievers. The business is long established within its markets and benefits from a track record of strong customer service as well as being renowned for high quality products.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Sales Director who will be responsible of the business development and sales strategy of a brand-new offering to the retail sector.

Reporting to the Managing Director and Board, you will lead a direct sales force which it is intended to grow nationally. You will be responsible for strategic sales planning and decision making, driving the right business activities in order to increase business growth and profit. On a day to day basis you will be responsible for all sales and marketing activity within this section of our client’s business.

With proven direct retail sales experience, ideally within the home improvement market, the successful candidate will be a credible sales leader with experience of leading a team covering all aspects of sales and marketing. With strong operational leadership skills, you will be results orientated with experience in setting and executing challenging sales strategies coupled with a strong ability to influence, lead, manage, motivate and develop a talented sales, marketing and customer service team. You will be financially focused with an ability to maximise profit without compromising employee and customer satisfaction. Our client welcome applications from both existing Sales Directors and candidates that feel they are ready for the next move to a demanding Board Level role. Experience of operating within the SME market is important as this will be a very hands-on role. The successful candidate will be based at their South Yorkshire Head Office and travel across the UK will be required.
