A fantastic opportunity for an experienced and dedicated manager has become available at a private day nursery in the centre of York. As Manager you will be a driven, passionate individual able to lead the setting maintaining high standards of care and education. You will be passionate about childcare and education you will be ready to take ownership of this family run nursery.
Key Responsibilities to include:-
- Creating a safe and caring environment that promotes learning through play
- A strong ability to motivate a team, promoting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues
- Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of children at all times
- Keeping up to date with the EYFS framework, policies and legislation
- Leading the staff to deliver high quality practice within the nursery
- Supervising activity planning to ensure that all the children’s needs are met
- Effective people management skills and the initiative to resolve issues quickly
- Identify staff training needs and facilitate training opportunities
- Appropriately manage staff absence including sickness, holidays and any other leave, to ensure that sufficient numbers of staff members are available at all time.
- Office duties to finances, marketing, recruiting, parent enquiries, staff appraisals and
- maintaining staff and child records , maintaining the nursery details on the company website
- The duties and responsibilities are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to undertake any other duties which may be required from time to time.
THE CANDIDATE: The ideal candidate will possess an expertise of the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements and outcomes and be able to deliver those through your staff, leading by example. Qualified to a minimum of NNEB, CACHE level 3, NVQ level 3 or equivalent, with a minimum 2 years management experience

- Proven experience of a Nursery Manager
- Self-motivated individual with a strong personality
- Hold a relevant childcare qualifications (Registered to Level3 or equivalent)
- Experience of leading and supporting staff
- Ability to communicate confidentially with a wide range of people
- Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
