Job title: Deputy Quality Manager Location: LlanelliType: Permanent Start Date: Immediate startTHE COMPANYA world renowned Global Automotive Manufacturer is looking to recruit a Deputy Quality Engineer to support the delivery of required targets of the manufacturing operations by providing quality functional support to the site.Responsible for the functional, financial and strategic direction of the Quality Department and its accountability for the development and maintenance of the Quality Management System. The post holder will contribute to the implementation and continued development of an integrated Quality Assurance approach, ensuring that departmental strategies are in line with those of the business. THE ROLEProviding strong leadership and developing a culture of defect prevention and waste elimination, you will develop and maintain world-class levels of Quality Engineering in all manufacturing processes. Acting as the Company representative to develop and maintain Product Assurance Systems, you will ensure customer quality requirements are fulfilled throughout product life (T16969 and other specifics) and lead Operational Quality Engineers and Technicians in ensuring controls are routinely applied. In all operational areas, you will devise and establish new/revised quality and engineering procedures and ensure that they are implemented and maintained. Also leading, encouraging and supporting continuous improvement projects and activities, especially those targeted on zero defect prevention and lead Operational Manufacturing Quality Engineering, you will prioritise, target and achieve excellent levels of First-Time-Through, scrap, and rework.As Deputy Quality Manager you will also be expected to ensure the weld quality standards and integrity of all the products manufactured in all Plants and lead the operational application of concern management. Managing countermeasure implementation and countermeasure confirmation audits, your duties will also include providing concern analysis at the company business unit and product level supported with improvement action plans.This role will entail developing and exploiting best practice Quality Engineering techniques and practices as well as man managing all operational Quality Engineers, developing their technical skills and personal development. Also assisting in the development of project management and Engineering system development, you will work with Purchasing Staff to establish Quality requirements of external suppliers.THE EXPERIENCETo succeed within this role, you will be educated to HNC or Degree level in a related Quality or Engineering discipline. Able to demonstrate experience in a similar high volume Customer facing Quality Management role, you will possess a background within the automotive industry in a senior quality management role. With a good working knowledge of TS16949 as well as quality management ISO 9001 you will have a thorough knowledge of Quality Systems, Customer Specific requirements, and Customer APQP systems.Able to motivate, and get the best out of lead large teams of staff, you will possess good interpersonal and organisational skills with a working style which includes close attention to detail. Able to provide evidence of a highly professional management approach, you will also be able to build positive relationships with colleagues.As a self-motivated individual, with a confident and proactive manner, you will be an innovative presenter of ideas and be receptive to new ideas.Personal attributes will include: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven negotiation skills, with analytical thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to remain under pressure.Experience in using Quality tools and techniques such as, 8D analysis, Poka Yoke etc.Experience and working knowledge in producing and developing required PPAP elements such as, PFMEA`s , Control Plans etcProficiency in all MS Office packages including Word, Excel, Outlook & Powerpoint.
