Trainee Quality Engineer required - progression to Quality Manager - Sheet Metal/Fabrication/Metal Processing/Machining
Working for a global manufacturer who have manufacturing facilities across the world, we now require a Trainee Quality Engineer who has the desire to progress in to management in turn increasing remuneration and responsibilities. The company manufacture metal fabricated components for some well known brands and industries.
Staring Salary: up to GBP30,000 per annum
Hours: Monday - Friday Days - Early finish on a Friday
Background required: A strong Mechanical Engineering background/education ideally from a project engineer/quality focused role. If you have a process and improvments background we would like to here from you.
The Successful Trainee Quality Engineer will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:
Knowledge of and familiar with ISO9001
Driven and looking to progress
Knowledge of 8D, 5 Why analysis or similar
Experienced in excel and word
Methodical approach
Degree educated
Hold engieering related qulifications
Previous quality experience or knowledge of Sheet Metal/Fabrication/Machining/Precision and general engineering highly beneficial
Auditing experience beneficial
Any knowledge of ISO 14001 OR 18001
CMM Experience
Continous improvment background/knowledge of
Previous experience working as a Project engineer/Manufacturing engineer
Progression:
We are looking for the Trainee Quality Engineer to progress into managing the quality systems for the business.
Role:
* Investigate all quality issues - both supplier and customer based
* Discuss performance issues with suppliers and customers
* Liaise with production and maintenance teams to rectify issues
* Lead investigations of root cause analysis
* Used problem solving techniques 8D, SPC, 5 why etc
* Support all certification
List of duties:
- Support new product engineering throughout the APQP process.
- Support manufacturing, co-ordinate internal product / process improvement,
- Problem solving and internal PPM improvements.
- Interface with the customers to co-ordinate concerns and problem resolution.
- Support purchasing when required to improve supplier performance.
- Maintain and improve core quality documentation.
- Implement and Maintain ISO9001
- Formulate and conduct quality training and awareness events.
- Undertake quality related projects.
- Ensure PPAP requirements are achieved for all new, modified and existing parts on and on going basis.
- Ensure part audits and process audits are carried out, measured and actioned.
- Develop control plans, supporting action plans and SPC, ensuring their use and assessing results.
- Define and agree formal quality standards for pressed panels.
- Ensure appropriate process control methods are employed.
