Assistant Financial Accountant

Barker Munro are delighted to be recruiting for one of Kents leading employers who are looking to add an Assistant Financial Accountant to their growing and busy team. ROLE SUMMARY The purpose of this role is to provide financial support and maintain the Fixed Asset Registers for the UK group of companies. The individual will need to build relationships both internally and externally and provide support to Manufacturing and Commercial colleagues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES External reporting Support to year end external audit plus input to statutory accounts and tax return.Collation, submission and reconciliation of overseas VAT for the UK group. Balance Sheet Reconciliations Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliationsEnsure completed in a timely manner - understand & explain movements, balances & variances (YOY / monthly). Fixed Assets Maintenance of the Fixed Asset registers for the UK groupOrganise & Minute monthly meetings with Operations and quarterly meetings with the Commercial teams.Manage the Construction in progress reconciliation for fixed asset additions, depreciation and disposals.Ensure appropriate Impairment procedures are developed, maintained and implemented for SOX compliance. Project Assignments Support the Business with ad hoc queries as they ariseProject Work - recent examples include Balance Sheet Reconciliation Refresh Project. QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE A sound academic record - Prepared to study towards a recognised Accountancy Qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/).Experience of SAP, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Lotus Notes, HFM, Essbase plus multi-dimensional database an advantage Due to the high levels of applications we are experiencing at the moment we are unable to respond to unsuccessful candidates, if you have not had a response within 1 week of applying regretfully you have not been unsuccessful Assistant Accountant - Kent - Accountancy and Finance
