Building on an impressive history, we are continuing on our successful growth strategy and are looking for an experienced and highly driven Retail and Trade Sales Manager.

The Role:

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, you will be responsible for leading the UK Sales Office Team to achieve and exceed the business`s sales targets by recruiting new sales staff and growing the sales competence within the existing team.

You will be developing long term sales plans whilst ensuring short-term goals are achieved. It`s important that you understand the key metrics such as volumes, sales pricing, profit margins and the sales pipelines in order to support continuous improvement.

It`s likely that you`ll spend most of your time, helping the Team with their development, coaching, mentoring and supporting them. The teams are all experienced sales professionals; we are also looking to grow this team over the next 5 years and into the future.

Main responsibilities of the role will include:

-Lead, support and empower staff to improve, develop and achieve KPI`s
-Conduct regular meetings to discuss performance and focus
-Set and track sales targets in conjunction with Sales Director
-Identify training requirements within the team to support their continued learning and product awareness
-Recruitment, Induction and Appraisal of the Office Sales Team
-The full performance management cycle
-Ensure the company standards are maintained
-Drive new sales improvement campaigns
-Push for long term results and to raise standards
-Encourage, promote and develop teamwork and good working relationships
-Proactively identify and remove barriers to change
-Carry out regular 121`s and appraisals and identify PDP needs and product awareness training
-Use initiatives to encourage healthy competition

What we`re looking for:

Our primary focus is management of the internal/external sales team and the development of their overall performance. The ideal candidate will be a leader, not just a manager, have a demonstrable and successful track record in business to business sales and account management, experience in recruiting, leading and performance managing a sales team of appointment makers and team leaders; preferably in a service provision industry sector.

You will have a formal educational background, be that a degree or further learning, understand the difference between management and leadership and possess excellent communication skills - both formal and informal, with Employees, Management and Customers.
