An experienced Sommelier / Wine Waiter is required for the Fine Dining Restaurant at this gorgeous 4 star Hotel in the beautiful and historic city of Cambridge.
The Property
The Hotel is in a great location and an easy stroll to the city's attractions, boasting a view overlooking 25 acres of open parkland. There are 84 rooms, conference facilities, a bar and their fine dining restaurant serves freshly prepared delicious food using locally sourced ingredients with a selection of fabulous wines.
The Role of Sommelier / Wine Waiter
As Sommelier / Wine Waiter you will work with a strong team led by a superb Head Chef with the front of house being staffed by an excellent group of friendly, hard-working, dedicated hospitality professionals.
Your key responsibility will be for the wine service and providing guests with expert advice on wine and food matching. You will support the Restaurant manager in developing the wine list, cellar rotation, wine procurement and sharing knowledge with other employees.
Main duties as Sommelier / Wine Waiter will include:
* Providing an outstanding wine service to all guests in particular food and wine matching.
* Ensuring glassware and ice buckets are ready for service.
* Supporting the Restaurant Manager ensure the wine list is kept up to date.
* Ability to work in all F & B areas at all times including breakfast, lunch and dinner.
* Being flexible in assisting different areas of the hotel in response to business and customer needs.
* Attending briefing sessions and hotel / departmental meetings.
The Ideal Sommelier / Wine Waiter
As Sommelier / Wine Waiter you will possess the following skills, experience or attributes:-
* Motivated and passionate about fine wine and service.
* Outgoing and socially confident.
* Ability to work logically and methodically without the need for close supervision.
* Possess a charismatic and engaging personality, together with a smart, polished appearance.
* Have strong English language / communication skills particularly verbal.
* Sommelier experience or WSET training.
Rewards
For the role of Sommelier / Wine Waiter there is on offer:
* A salary of GBP16,000 to GBP17,000 per annum, depending on experience
