Maternity cover - Fixed term contract until 30 September 2017
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Centre Secretary who will act as full personal secretarial support to the Centre Director and support the work of the three Associate Directors, and the Centre Manager.
You will be a key liaison point for the 16 police organizations involved in The Open University Policing Research Consortium which is at the heart of the Centre. You will also be the first point of contact in that office in dealing with members of the School, other departments of the University and external organisations, and responsible for inputting new material onto the website. This will involve the use of initiative, tact and judgement when dealing with the issues which will arise.
You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritise issues. Excellent inter-personal skills with experience of building good working relationships and dealing with people at all levels will also be very important. You should have the ability to work effectively as a team member and on your own initiative.
