The Assistant Project Manager will assist with the management and resourcing of allocated projects for which responsibility has been given to maximise output and profit whilst controlling costs, in accordance with pre-determined Health, Safety and Environment regulations. Main Duties and Responsibilities Developing good working relationships and close liaison with clients.Dealing with variations and valuations (submissions and settlements).Managing health, safety and environment issues.Managing human resources issuesStaff training.Dealing with customer care issues.Maintaining a high standard of quality work.Controlling overtime, petty cash and wages paymentCarrying out pre, current and post programme/contract managementMonitoring overall company performanceAdditional integral responsibilities include report writing, record maintenance, and satisfactory communication at all levels Skills and Knowledge Extensive technical construction/civils knowledge.Previous experience on rail projectsAbility to analyse problems and offer solutions.Commercial awareness and understanding.Leadership and responsibilityAbility to work under pressure.Ability to manage people and resources to reach the successful completion of the projectsConsistently identify and manage Health and Safety issues to provide a safe place of work for at all times.Ability to provide support to the tendering and estimating functionsGood communicator.Computer literate. Professional Experience Experience of working within a team.Experience of managing construction/civils projects.Previous relevant experience at middle management level in the industry. Skills and Knowledge Ability to motivate people to reach common goals.Good negotiator.Good team player.
