SENIOR QUALITY MANAGER - ENGINEERING / MANUFACTURING
PERMANENT OPPORTUNITY EXCELLENT SALARY AND BENEFITS PACKAGE BASED NEWPORT SOUTH WALES
Based in Newport South Wales, Edgar Stewart's client is a well known and highly respected semiconductor OEM business. They supply equipment to clients on a global basis, and are at the forefront of technology design. With a range of technologies on the market and a steady flow of R+D work in progress, the quality function is about to implement ISO 9001:2015 and they now need to recruit a Senior Quality Manager to dive this project and cultural change over the longer term.
Reporting into the Production Engineering Director, the Senior Quality Manager will define the scope and shape of the quality strategy within the Plant and how that is documented in a robust Quality Management System (QMS); a system that must produce high quality products through the use of defined and auditable processes with the aim of delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. This role will place a heavy emphasis on taking the quality organisation forward over the next 5 years, and integrating the benefits of best practice quality methodologies into the high level structure of an ISO 9001:2015 certified QMS. This person will have responsibility for Supplier Quality, Management Systems, Audit and Manufacturing quality.
Consider the applicability and adoption of ISO/TS 16494:2016 practices; and implement practices that are applicable within the organisation
Support the development of Statistical Process Control in manufacturing and be a champion for Six Sigma as a methodology for data driven improvement and tool for producing capable processes
Raise awareness of Quality throughout the company, develop performance indicators and provide reports to the senior management
Work with the purchasing team to maintain & develop the supplier scorecard. Reporting and recommendations provided to the purchasing team and company management
Ensure compliance to procedure is maintained and that internal and external audit procedures and processes are robust and followed through
Writing technical and management system reports and leading a team.
Educated to degree calibre, we are looking for an experienced quality leader, with proven strategic quality assurance/development experience. This will suit candidates with high level quality assurance experience and knowledge of high regulated standards e.g. AS9100 or TS16494. Candidates should come from a lower volume, highly complex or bespoke build and assembly type background. It will suit candidates from oil and gas, other equipment or instrument design and build backgrounds, machining, medical devices or aerospace.
