Position: Legal Secretary
Location: Manchester M8 9LG
Salary: Starter: £18,000 to £22,000-flexibility depending on experience.

Two of our main focuses as a firm are to provide a holistic approach to helping all of our clients and to offer a value-added service. Therefore, we are able to offer free welfare benefit advice to our existing clients. This includes a benefit entitlement check service for clients who are unable to work due to various factors. We examine and provide advice and assistance on a wide range of benefits.
Job Summary:
New company formed in July.
4 people currently in the business.
Will be reporting to the Managing Partner.
Entry requirements
There are no set requirements, but GCSEs (A* to C) in English and maths and a legal secretarial qualification could help you get the job.
Experience of office work, including word processing and audio transcription, could also help.
Skills required
You'll need:
computer literacy including word processing
accuracy and attention to detail
excellent spelling and grammar
What you'll do
You will be the only Legal Administrator within the company. Your day-to-day tasks may include:
producing legal documents like wills and contracts
handling confidential information
working from written notes and audio files (dictation)
dealing with clients
making appointments and managing diaries
keeping records
accompanying solicitors to court or police stations
Working hours, patterns and environment
You'll usually work 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. You'll usually work at our office but may travel locally to deliver documents.
Career path and progression
With further qualifications, you could become a legal executive, paralegal or licensed conveyancer.
You could also qualify as a solicitor or barrister.

1. Initial Telephone Interview (Informal)
2. Interview In Office With Managing Partner and two Senior Partners within the firm.
3. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
