We're currently searching to appoint a Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer for a large manufacturing business. The appointed Production Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer will have experience of developing manufacturing processes, BOMs and Value Stream Maps and making efficiency savings. You will be able to use lean and continuous improvement tools to improve work flow and prepare products for large batch manufacture. You'll be joining a well-established business with exciting plans for the future, a full order book, and will have a varied role with regular involvement with production, engineering, quality and supply chain functions.Production Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Manufacturing Engineer* Evaluate and develop production processes and procedures* Construct and develop Value Stream Maps in order to capture and analyse production times and identify improvements* Provide manufacturing with decision-making information by calculating production labour cost, material cost, production schedules, and forecasting schedules* Collect, analyse and summarise information and trends in order to prepare product/process reports and control charts* Develop a Bill of Materials (BoM) which clearly reflects the production flow and process methods* Develop and document preventative maintenance programs* Some products are developed initially before transferring to a volume manufacturing facility in Europe. This may require some offsite workingProduction Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Manufacturing Engineer* Apprentice trained or degree qualified in an engineering discipline* Experience working in an automotive environment preferred* Good working knowledge of product designs, fabrication, assembly and tooling methods* Strong aptitude for product and process development* Experience of improving manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements and layout of equipment* Experience of using and analysing statistical data, charts and graphsProduction Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Automotive, Lean, Continuous Improvement
