An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Kitchen Assistant to join a reputable Nursery that specialises in providing the highest quality of childcare, in this unique setting of countryside. Based in Oakington, Cambridge, the successful Kitchen Assistant will earn an hourly rate of GBP8.50 per hour depending on experience.
Working from an award winning, state of the art, purpose built kitchen and reporting into the Catering Manager, your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Supporting the Catering Manager in all aspects of the kitchen
- Helping to prepare meals for approx. 100 children per day - hot meal at lunchtime and high tea later in the day
- Preparing fresh fruit and vegetables each day
- Distributing & serving some of the meals, canteen style to our oldest children
- Opportunities for creative cooking on theme days and open days
- Cleaning the kitchen and equipment after use
- Taking part in training as required
- Opportunities to be responsible for the kitchen in the Managers absence
To be considered for the Kitchen Assistant position, ideally you would have previous experience, in a similar role or environment. In addition, you must possess the following key skills and experience:
- Professional & well presented
- Good communicator
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent organisation skills
- Hardworking
- Dedicated
- Hygiene certificate would be an advantage
