The electrical engineer is required to aid senior engineers in development of technical solutions for numerous design projects. Also, the position will be required to produce 'project deliverables' for wastewater and water treatment plants. The candidate will be working on numerous projects simultaneously, so good time management skills will be required. Reports to the Area M&E Manager or M&E Co-ordinator, and is responsible for providing an Electrical and ICA service to Project Managers in accordance with the M&E Services Manual.Responsible for the supervision of other engineers if required. Evaluates pre-contract designs and provides electrical and ICA estimating input to budget and proposal stage costing. Reviews and interprets design being produced by external design consultants and provides input to the specifications and drawings to ensure that scopes and specifications produced fulfil the project requirements.Carries out any design not being done by the designer as required by the project.Produces M&E procurement schedules, and interfaces procurement with the overall programme.Preparation of enquiry documents for packages of electrical, instrumentation switchgear and plant control for various water treatment processes.Evaluates returned tenders and prepares bid evaluation documentation. Corresponds with sub-contractors to bring their offer into line with project requirements, and compiles final documentation for order placement attending any pre order meetings necessary.Manages sub-contract packages, ensuring integration of design, conformance to specification and all documentation is correct. Reviews all pre manufacture and design documentation submitted for reviewInspection and testing of equipment if required at the factory or site.Attends regular meetings with subcontractors, MJG site management and the clients representative to review all project design, procurement and progress matters.Provides guidance to the on-site installation and commissioning engineers.Provides support, supervision and management to the MJG electrical installation section, which operates within the Trident West Alliance if required.Other duties as required by the M&E Manager.Carries out duties/functions under Quality and Safety Management Systems. Salary range - GBP33,000 to GBP37,000 depending on experience
