PR Officer / Public Relations / Marketing Assistant

PR Officer (Part time 6 month fixed term contract) Upto GBP10,400 pro rata(GBP23k-GBP26k full time equivalent) Sheffield 15 hours per week (flexible) OVERVIEW Location - Sheffield Duration - 6 month fixed term contract with the potential to be extended Hours of Work - Part time, 2 days per week (flexible) 15 hours. THE CLIENT Our client is a well established Sheffield based business with prosperous growth plans. They are currently looking to recruit a PR officer on a 6 month fixed term contract. THE JOB As PR Officer you will report into the Marketing Manager and will be working alongside a small team including the Graphic Designer. The PR Officer is responsible for handling all aspects of planned publicity campaigns and PR activities. Daily responsibilities within the role will include: Planning publicity strategies for local, corporate and trade media Delivering PR campaigns and events Writing press releases and articles as required Dealing with enquiries from the public, the press, and related organisations Analysing media coverage Undertaking relevant market research Liaising with clients and department heads regarding all PR matters CRITERIA:Essential Excellent communication skills both orally and written Excellent interpersonal skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Outlook Confident presentation skills Ability to work using own initiative Ability to prioritise and plan effectively Awareness of different media agendas Excellent creativity The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Desirable A degree in business, media studies or marketing would be beneficial BENEFITS Competitive salary, free car parking, 25 days annual leave + stats (pro rata), 5%/5% pension scheme, death in service and excellent training and development with a very well established company.
