Debt Advice Officer

Debt Advice Officer Tyne & Wear Temporary GBP13 per hour Your new companyIs a well-established and respected housing provider in the North East, who are looking to recruit a Debt Advice Officer on a temporary basis to work within their Housing Services Team. Your new roleThe role will be to work with customers/tenants supporting them and advising them about their debt. This will involve carrying out income and expenditure reports, liaising with the rent and income team, signposting them to other organisations that will be able to assist them in re-payments, help them manage the money that they have and what they owe and ensure that each customer that you work with has an action plan to work towards. What you'll need to succeedTo succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate previous experience working within a debt advice / income role preferably within social housing. You will also need to have knowledge of welfare reform and bedroom tax legislation. The post holder must also hold a full driving license, and access to their own vehicle.
