In depth knowledge and deployment of Linux OS, particularly Red Hat Fedora 4 Core IPSec functionality and interaction with third party SW applications.
In depth knowledge and deployment of Windows Operating Systems and interaction with third party SW applications. Working in a team environment.
Job/task description
A Satellite Communications System is currently being upgraded so that elements of this system operate upon an updated MS Windows Operating System (OS) - Windows Server 2012 R2.
Two Bespoke Application communicate with one another. One is hosted upon the Windows OS and the other is hosted upon a Linux OS. Communication is via the IPsec protocol. The applicant will be responsible ensuring that these Applications function correctly, communicate correctly and as previously with the new Windows OS. For example, this may involve re-configuring the Linux product manager (RPM).
Following this upgrade regression testing will be undertaken to ensure functionality and
behaviour remains correct. Security Enforcing Function (SEF) testing will be undertaken to ensure the expected security behaviour remains intact.
