Position: Mechanical Design Engineer (Rotating Equipment)
Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Salary: GBP35,000 - GBP37,000 plus package
We're currently looking at recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer who has experience of designing rotating equipment. You will be part of both the first of design phase whilst also under taking edits and re-design of existing products and creating all the technical documentation, BOMs and manuals to sit with the product.
* Providing an internal but customer facing resource to assess project scope and requirements.
* To provide engineered solutions whilst supporting the specification review, critique & delivery of the order.
* Provide economic repair solutions to service & repair gear unit orders
* Interpret customer specifications for assigned projects and opportunities.
* Use engineering tools such as CAD & CAE tools to provide local engineering resource, including the provision of engineering /technical drawings, Solid Edge experience is preferable, but any 3d package would be fine.
* Be familiar with relevant engineering standards and specifications.
* Responsible for ensuring contractual, ISO quality standards are met.
* Provide technical support and instructions to associated business functions.
* Maintenance of part masters and bills of materials within SAP.
* Ability to liaise with other departments.
* Take on department projects and ad hoc duties as required.
Relevant engineering background / knowledge CAD and CAE literate
Solid Edge experience
Gear unit design/selection, or rotating machines Experience in industrial gear unit service & repair.
