We are looking to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician within our team here at India Mill.
Your role will be to maintain, repair and continually improve plant and utilities over our four sites, minimising downtime and increasing productivity. You will lead projects, with a team of electrical and mechanical engineers, on design and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment to maintain and improve company productivity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead various installation projects ranging from full production machine installation down to machine control modifications
• To work towards continuous improvement on all company plant and building services, highlighting areas of improvement and carrying them through to completion
• Monitoring of plant, machinery and processes for problem solution and improvement
• Carry out fast and effective fault diagnosis and repair on machinery, drive systems and PLC programs where required
• Provide training to engineering dept. personnel to broaden knowledge base
• Organisation and planning of work arising from several sources- Line Manager, head of dept. Project plans and CMS
• Organisation and planning of specific projects and ordering of materials within the department working within strict time scales
The successfully appointed Electrical Maintenance Technician must have served a 4-year electrical apprenticeship and have a minimum HNC qualification in an electrical profession. You will be able to develop and work with complex parts drawings and system schematics and have supervisory experience with capability to project lead and budget control.
Skills and Experience
• Qualifications to include 17 th edition and test & inspection 2391 or equivalent
• Capable of Drive control fault analysis and reprogramming on Inverter, Vector, stepper, frequency series through to regen DC bus systems
• Capable of PLC, periphery interfaces and HMI control programming
• Capable of designing electro mechanical systems from concept
• Capable of Panel design, build test and commission
• Safety training and experience
• Up to date legislative and approved codes of practice knowledge
• Paper printing knowledge and experience preferred
• Knowledge & experience of fault analysis and repair on Electrical systems
• Able to learn new software systems and support new equipment when required
• Must have excellent communication skills at all levels
• Be able to provide specialist training for engineering personnel on all transferable knowledge, to broaden the dept. skill base
• Mobile elevated platform use will be required; a valid licence is preferred but can be taken in-house
