GBP49,605 per annum for 36 hours per week based at Consort House, 5-7 Queensway, Redhill, RH1 1YB.

About the Role

Surrey's two children with disabilities teams are part of countywide services and are based at Redhill (East team) and Woking (West team). The teams provide a range of services to support disabled children, young people and their families including Child and Family Assessments, support to children in need, looked after children and Occupational Therapy.

The post holder will line manage 3 Team Managers with responsibility for 12 FTE social workers and 5 FTE Senior Family Support Workers. The service currently supports over 400 disabled children and young people across the East of Surrey.

The team works closely with colleagues in the area children's services teams, MASH, Short Breaks Team and short break providers, Early Help, Early Years, schools and SEN, Transition and external agencies including Health services and the voluntary sector.

Over the past year the service has introduced personal budgets and support plans across the service. Providing effective support to parent carers and young carers is a key focus and the team is co-located with the Transition Team to ensure smooth transitions for young people as they prepare for adulthood.

The postholder will be involved in taking forward the strategic direction of the service to support the achievement of departmental objectives and will be part of wider SEND development work.
