This Bristol-based organic food retail company is looking to recruit a Buyer.

You will oversee availability, efficiency, profitability and range.

Key responsibilities
1. To buy & sell the right offer/right price, whilst building supplier relations
- Overall inventory management
o Coordination & communication on deliveries, promotions
o Ensure correct retail pricing in ePOS
o Ensure cost and quantity data is correct in ePOS (including stock takes and cycle counts)
o Ensure correct procedures in place and being followed to ensure timely receipts and adjustments in EPOS
o Oversee overall product mix, based on Compass, insight and experience
- Stock sell through monitoring & management
o Category reviews to ensure margins and strong sell-through
o Maintain intelligent ordering and fulfilment.
o Ensure that new items are set-up timely and accurately and discontinued items are removed
- Promotion and offer management
o Support development of promotion strategy
o Develop promotional calendars and ensure communicated
o Ensure offers are correctly recorded and recovered by suppliers (where appropriate)
- Develop and build supplier relations and negotiate prices, terms, discounts, etc.

2. Be a valuable, contributing member to the Central Leadership Team
- Attend meetings on a regular basis and engage and be candid.
- Provide insight and feedback from store (both employee and customers)
- Bring fresh ideas and suggestions to drive business success and help meet targets.
- As a senior manager, work towards an inclusive, 'best for company' approach
- Once actions agreed, to embrace as a central team and work towards delivery
- Be knowledgeable and support of:
o Our company purpose, aspirations, customer promise and values.
o Our company structure, resources and goals
o Our customers, industry and competition.

3.Be a great manager to their company and your team (or indirect reports)
- Ensure that they have a healthy, productive teams,
o Manage workloads appropriately (hours and responsibilities)
o Ensure they have the right people in the right jobs ('on the bus') and poor performers or poor fit staff 'off the bus' all in a timely, legal, and their appropriate way.
o Ensure that direct reports are trained and compensated appropriately.
