Senior Project Manager (Website and Intranet Improvements Programme)
Salary GBP40,082 - GBP44,414 per annum (Grade 7)
The post is full-time and fixed-term for 24 months.
Ref: 5288BR
This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced project manager with a web background to lead a newly-formed multi-disciplinary web team as they undertake a two year programme to deliver key improvements to Cardiff University's digital presence.
With oversight of eight web projects of varying size, you will be responsible for project planning, implementation and monitoring. You will also oversee costs, manage risks/issues and report progress to senior stakeholder groups as well as ensuring a smooth transition to business as usual.
The projects will tackle mobile optimisation of the University's website and intranet, improvements for international audiences, remaining content migration, personalisation of the intranet, an increased focus on research-related content and a review of current web governance, support and testing capabilities.
Working alongside the in-house Digital Communications team, the programme will build on the foundations of a recent digital transformation programme that included the introduction of a new CMS, migration and improvement of existing content and the creation of a staff and student intranet. With this in mind, the successful candidate will understand the challenges of evolving an existing large-scale website.
You'll be based in our new open-plan office space in central Cardiff and will enjoy a range of benefits including generous annual leave, staff pension scheme and a good work-life balance.
Digital Communications is part of the Communications and Marketing Department. We are a committed and enthusiastic team with a wide-range of skills working on fast-paced and varied projects. We are responsible for the design, user experience and content of the University's external website and intranet. We provide tools, guidance, training and support to enable the University to communicate effectively across all digital channels.
Closing date: 1 January 2017
Please be aware that Cardiff University reserves the right to close this vacancy early should sufficient applications be received.
Cardiff University is committed to supporting and promoting equality and diversity. Our inclusive environment welcomes applications from talented people from diverse backgrounds.
You should complete your Personal Statement and/or Cover Letter prior to beginning the on line application process as you will be required to upload the documents during the process. Ensure the documents include your name and the post reference number (four-digit number, ending "BR") within their title(s).
Please make sure to address each of the essential, and where relevant the desirable, criteria in your application. If candidates do not provide written evidence, in separate supporting document(s), of how they meet all of the essential criteria their application will not be progressed.
