Who we are:

We are a fast-growth, international sports nutrition manufacturer and online retailer, a Sunday Times Fast Track 100 Company and in the IRUK Top 500 2016.

Working in a thriving and rapidly expanding eCommerce, sports nutrition business, the Front End Developer will be working alongside experienced JavaScript and Sage Developers, acting as the first helpdesk contact on front end support for colleagues within the business, along with assisting the digital developers with Magento maintenance, moving into JavaScript development. 

This role provides a rare opportunity to cover a variety of development allowing the individual to naturally grow into a JavaScript Developer role within the business. 

Technologies used: 

Development

+ PHP

+ Basic JavaScript 
+ Magento 1.13 (an advantage but not critical) 
+ Git (preferable)
+ Subversion (preferable)
+ Webpack (preferable) 

Infrastructure:

+ Windows 7 
+ Network troubleshooting 

Job Responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

+ Modifying HTML, SCSS and CSS code 
+ Responding to site bugs and assisting with fixes 
+ Liaising with the Magento development agency on website modifications 
+ Handling CS ticketing system (ZenDesk) faults 
+ Assisting with JavaScript Development projects 

All members of the Systems Development team do provide tech support to the business, and therefore any experience as a technician or interest in this area would be an advantage. This is a developing role and responsibilities may change over time.

About You: 

This role requires a dynamic IT enthusiast and keen front end developer. You should have knowledge of the majority of the technologies listed above with an interest in building on basic knowledge of JavaScript. You should be able to demonstrate an ability to self-teach and have high ambitions for a system development career. 

You will also learn TDD techniques (Test Driven Development) on the job. While experience is not entirely required in this area, it is something you will have a keen interest and desire to learn. 

Other desirable areas of study/experience include: Node.js, MongoDB, Linux, Amazon Web Services, Docker.
