HR Advisor required for a busy Human Resources Department within a well-established Company based in Birmingham, West Midlands.

SALARY: £25,000 - £30,000 + Mobile Phone + Salary Sacrifice Pension +Benefits     

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an HR Advisor that has a solid all-round generalist background with the ability to manage a Human Resources Team.

Working as the HR Advisor you will be responsible for delivering the people / talent strategy through managing all aspects of the Human Resources lifecycle from recruitment and selection, performance management, training and the leavers process.

As the HR Advisor you will ensure the Human Resources Department adds value to the business, working closely with the Board of Directors to reduce costs and improve standards.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the HR Advisor:

  • Show awareness for business performance and overall P&L, acting in an advisory capacity to support business change and development
  • Demonstrate commercial ability when liaising with outsourced service providers
  • Ensure monthly MI is distributed to the Board of Directors and continuously develop HR Metrics available to the business
  • Work with the Board of Directors to ensure a thorough succession plan is in place and effective development is in place for managers
  • Work to improve KPI’s (retention rates, absence levels etc.) through strategic management of key processes and business change
  • Develop a thorough understanding of all business contracts adapting advice and guidance to suit commercial and operational needs
  • Manage effective working relationships with outsourced providers whilst continuously reviewing performance requirements and costs
  • Provide high quality, practical advice, guidance and coaching to Line Managers in relation to all employee relations matters
  • Oversee all recruitment and selection activities for the business ensuring compliance to current legislation is upheld at all times
  • Manage and maintain all Human Resources documentation, updating and creating new templates as and when required
  • Continuously update and implement policies and procedures in accordance with legislation and business needs
  • Ensure that managers have the skills and tools to performance manage their teams
  • Identify training needs and design and facilitate workshops to bridge skills gaps across the business
  • Drive sickness absence management across the business to ensure procedural consistency and fairness whilst handling long term sickness cases in conjunction with local management
  • Seek to commercially resolve and act as a main contact for all Employment Tribunal cases whilst working with outsourced legal team
  • Advise and oversee all activities in relation to TUPE transfers
  • Measure employee engagement by overseeing the Engagement Survey project every two years
  • Organise and actively partake in regular review meeting with the Operations Director
  • Coach, train and develop all direct reports, making full use of available business tools within the performance management cycle
  • Some UK travel required with possible overnight stays

IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Preferably CIPD Qualified (Full or Part Qualified Considered)
  • Previous experience gained within a similar role, working closely with the Board of Directors
  • Perfect role for an experienced Human Resources Advisor or Officer looking for their next challenge
  • Sound and up-to-date knowledge of Employment Law
  • Experienced in managing a small HR Team either as a Human Resources Advisor / Officer
  • Self-motivated / able to plan and manage own workload
