Our company client is a global Dublin based insurance business who are currently seeking to recruit a driven and organised senior Regulatory Compliance Specialist with a focus on compliance risk-based monitoring, appropriate oversight over controls and management of regulatory risk.This is an exciting opportunity for career progression.

Major duties for this position will include:

* Becoming familiar with certain key business processes which carry compliance and regulatory risk and with certain key regulations and compliance requirements
* Becoming familiar with the enterprise-wide risk assessment methodology.
* Input into the annual compliance inherent risk assessment review and planning process
* In line with the enterprise-wide methodology and within agreed timescales, evaluating and providing independent assessment of effectiveness of compliance controls relied on by the business to manage and mitigate regulatory risk
* Involvement in all phases of the compliance risk assessment process (planning, executing (this will involve both design effectiveness and operating effectiveness testing), recording and reporting).
* Building effective business relationships with business managers and with business unit compliance function management and staff during assessments/reviews, an essential input to executing the work in a reliable and collaborative fashion.
* Providing advice and support to the business unit compliance areas as required.
* In conjunction with Group and Local Compliance Management, preparing high quality written reports on relevant governance, compliance management and control issues and communicating these to Management, agreeing action plans and tracking such issues for resolution with agreed timelines.
* Assisting in the production of compliance reports.
* Providing support and input into Compliance projects that may arise.

Background and skills required:

* Experience in a compliance, audit or other oversight function preferably in a Life Assurance company, Investment Management or other financial services company would be an advantage.
* Experience in executing risk-based assurance work.
* Have or be working towards a relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA). The successful candidate will be willing to complete the ACOI Professional Diploma in Compliance.
* Knowledge of the key regulatory requirements relevant to the financial services industry would be an advantage.
* Enthusiastic and motivated, with a strong work ethic along with ownership for all deliverables.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong team player who works with team members to deliver on objectives.
* An ability to work across teams to achieve objectives, and confidence in dealing with people at all levels in the organisation.
