My Client is a leading nuclear technology services provider who specialise in providing tailored solutions in all aspects of the nuclear industry. The Senior Research Technologist will support the reactor operations support team at the offices in Stonehouse.
The Role
??? Provide a reactor focused corrosion consultancy capability for internal and external customers
??? Deliver work packages from the development of technical scope through to delivery of customer reports
??? Contribute to the ongoing development of the reactor corrosion capability through interaction with key stakeholders
??? Develop strategic relationships with new customers to meet business growth targets
??? Management of multi-disciplinary research programmes
??? Internal peer review
??? Supervision of academic research
??? Preparation of costed proposals
You
Ideally you'll have a postgraduate qualification in a corrosion related discipline or you'll have the relevant experience. You'll have an in-depth knowledge of aqueous corrosion phenomena and will have a proven track record in applying your scientific knowledge and experience in the area of corrosion to a range of technical issues. You'll have knowledge of all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle with an emphasis on the operation and decommissioning of nuclear power stations. Ideally you'll have experience in the areas of ion exchange, radiation chemistry, materials irradiation and/or computer modelling and will have a knowledge of nuclear regulatory processes.
