Position: Fixed Term Operational Risk Manager - Retail Banking
Location: Dublin
Salary: €70000 - €80000 per annum

The company client is an exciting organisation rapidly expanding who are currently looking to appoint a dynamic and innovative Operational Risk Manager to join their Dublin Office on a Fixed Term basis. This is a unique opportunity to join a widely respected brand in a period of fast paced change.
Main duties for this job will involve:
* Manage the team responsible for supporting the Retail banking business in the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive, systematic approach to proactively identify, assess and measure the risks challenging its most critical objectives and related projects, initiatives, and day-today operating practices.
* Work with Retail banking business to update their risk assessments to address significant trigger events e.g. new customer propositions, products decommissioned, occurrence of a material incident, deterioration in Key Risk indicators, material outsourcing arrangements.
* Lead the execution of a programme of risk based controls monitoring, with the approach to individual assignments based on executive/ senior management`s requirements e.g. themed or end to end reviews of key risk areas.
* Support the business in the formulation of robust coordinated actions to remediate risk issues / control gaps identified.
* Develop the operational plans, to prioritise and deliver on key requirements for banking business units, for inclusion in the overall Risk Assessment & Monitoring plan.
* Lead team and develop their skillsets and competence in the areas of risk assessment and controls monitoring, through "hands on" management of assignments where appropriate.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Senior Management in the banking businesses, and use these contacts to positively influence the efficiency/effectiveness of their Risk Management and their commercial agenda.
Essential attributes and qualifications required:
* 3rd level degree.
* Extensive Risk Management experience an advantage.
* Ability to provide intellectual rigour to risk assessment and controls monitoring, development of business solutions and decision making.
* Technical knowledge - up to date knowledge of regulatory and industry guidelines and best practices for risk management and mitigation within financial services.
* Strong financial and analytical acumen with the ability to manage a broad and diverse agenda.
Desirable Background:
* Knowledge of the Retail banking organisation, processes, products, systems and strategy along with an appreciation of the key risks.
Soft Skills Set:
* Ability to coach and manage a team of risk experts;
* Strong communications skills;
* Proven ability to work effectively with and influence the actions of stakeholders at multiple levels;
* Credibility to influence senior management and other internal and external stakeholders
