SummaryAXA Legal Services are the in house legal department who are instructed to act on behalf of AXA and Swiftcover policy holders. We're an in-house legal unit within AXA Motor and responsible for managing litigated claims on behalf of AXA and its policyholders. The Claimant team pursues claims to recover AXA and our customers' losses, whereas the Defendant team defends claims brought against AXA or our customers. AXA Legal Services are currently seeking a Defendant Paralegal to defend proceedings brought against Swiftcover/AXA Policyholders and have full conduct of the cases. The role involves control of a portfolio of 150 claims consisting of personal injury MOJ claims, Small claims bent metal/ credit hire claims. What you will be doingThe role encompasses: Filing Defences, Discrediting credit hire claims, Promptly settling personal injury MOJ matters. Preparing statements and briefing counsel. The role holder will effectively manage his/her own portfolio of Defendant claims and be responsible for research and keeping up to date with the latest case law. Responsibilities include: Defending proceedings brought against AXA and or its policy holders.Ensuring deadlines are met throughout the various stages of the claim.Handling claims to the required quality standard and within the agreed timelines as per the KPI's set.Achieving the required technical and customer service audit scores. Experience in a similar role with credit hire/personal injury experience Very good working knowledge of the Road Traffic Act to assist in the performance of the role. Very good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules, including Part 36 offers and CRU. Ideally with a Law degree and LPC.
