Principal Teachers are currently working in partnership with a secondary school situated on the outskirts of York. The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking a committed and innovative Science Teacher to begin a long term post commencing January 2017 until at least Easter 2017 with the possibility of extension into the summer term. The successful applicant will need to be available on a full time basis, teaching KS3 and KS4 students and taking GCSE groups.


Applications are welcome from both NQTs and experienced teachers.

The successful applicant will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognisable in the UK
• Strong behaviour and classroom management skills
• Previous experience of teaching science in a KS3-KS4 setting in the UK
• Knowledge of the current Secondary Science National Curriculum requirements
• Enthusiasm for the role and a creative flare
• The ability to form excellent working relationships with staff and pupils from a diverse range of backgrounds
• Experience of planning and assessment to a very high standard
• A commitment to improving attainment for all children
• A proven track record for raising attainment and achieving targets
