The Company
Our client is a charity founded in 1954 and have a number of adult and children's residential homes, including an outstanding school, on-site speech therapy, physiotherapy and hydro-therapy services. They have achieved a reputation of attaining very high service standards, working with children, young people and adults who have complex and multiple physical disabilities and associated communication, sensory and learning difficulties.
They are based in Mirfield, West Yorkshire where you will be part of a team based in an historic building set within spacious grounds.
The day-to-day duties
They are looking for an enthusiastic professional Payroll and Finance Assistant to join our busy finance department, where you will be responsible for the monthly payroll for 550 employees, ensuring all staff are paid accurately and on time in accordance with UK legislation and internal policy and procedures.
Other duties include:
- Auto enrolment pensions
- Producing payslips and P60's
- Calculating statutory payments (SMP, SSP, SPP etc.)
- Dealing with queries including maternity and sickness
- Process new starters and leavers
- RTI submissions
The Payroll and Finance Assistant will also incorporate cover within our Finance department primarily purchase ledger.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications required:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within payroll administration including a strong working knowledge of payroll practices and compliance. You will also have excellent IT skills particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, and possess the ability to analyse and evaluate work methods.
Previous experience working with Sage 200 and Snowdrop is desirable.
