Our client has identified several opportunities for experienced Chemists / Laboratory Technicians to join them on a permanent or temporary basis. This role is ideal for those candidates with a strong interest in chemistry, to broaden their knowledge and analytical skill set, suiting a college leaver with ‘A’ Levels or equally if you are a / or about to graduate with a Chemistry or related qualification then this could be just what you are looking for!
Position Summary;
As Laboratory Technician/ Chemist your role will be to analyse materials ranging from copper concentrates from mines in South America to high grade Platinum group metals for precious metals refiners, in one of the largest, purpose built laboratories in the world.
Your daily roles and responsibilities will include;
• Developing good laboratory techniques and manipulation skills to achieve high standards of quality and accuracy
• Gaining knowledge of methods of preparation or analysis and to be able to follow them accurately
• Learning and applying safe working practices and to develop a full understanding of the application of the COSHH regulations
• Learning and applying the role and the importance of UKAS and ISO 9001:2000 in the Laboratory
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will;
• Our client is looking for the right candidate who pays attention to detail, is an excellent team player and keen to learn and progress
• High standards of quality and accuracy are key
• Be an individual who is prepared to work within a rotating shift system, 06.00-14.30 and 09.30-18.00
• Lives locally, ideally within 10-15 miles, with own transport or access to public transport that fits with the shift hours
