THE ROLE: Web Application Developer, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
My Client is looking for an experienced Web Applications Developer to join our team developing an enterprise authoring application for assessments. To create a best in class authoring application and user experience for the business.
You will join a growing and dynamic team that supports and enhances our ground-breaking platform for producing assessments materials.
ACCOUNTABILITY- Web Application Developer, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
  • Translate design requirements into reliable and user-friendly solutions using appropriate technologies, languages and tools within defined standards.
  • Perform unit and system testing and assist with the testing and training process in conjunction with interested parties
  • Transfer knowledge and information to other team members to ensure the team operates efficiently
  • Give technical and business support to customers, helpdesk and other IS personnel in order to meet business and operational requirements.
  • To report progress against agreed time and budget constraints
The Candidate- Web Application Developer, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
You will have a background in web application development with a focus on front-end technologies that deliver (UI) application that provide an intuitive user experience (UX), you should be comfortable working on both the front and backend of an application.
We are looking for someone who is educated to degree-level or equivalent and has worked on the enterprise application delivered using web technologies
KEY CRITERIAS- Web Application Developer, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

  • Good communication oral/team relationship skills (required to work as part of a multi discipline delivery team, often in a lead role, and must be able to comfortably handle differences in opinion and explain technical concepts to non-technical staff)
  • Understanding of basic computer hardware (as required by a programmer using a high level language; e.g. can conceptualise/describe CPUs, Memory, Hard drives, Networks etc)
  • A good level of procedural or/and functional programing technology competence (evidence provided by previous industry experience and relevant certifications)
  • Experience of project lifecycle, Waterfall, V model or Agile
Desirable
  • UI and UX techniques
  • Typescript
  • LESS and SASS
  • UML
  • XSLT
  • Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenStack) Jenkins
  • Previous experience of Content Management, Workflow engines, Print technologies, and experience in the Assessment, Publishing or Education domains
