PCB Test Engineer
Mark Roberts Motion Control Ltd, the world leading company in robotic camera and motion control equipment, is expanding and requires an experienced PCB Test Engineer to take on responsibility for testing a variety of R&D Special projects.
Celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, with state of the art robotics at major international sporting events such as the recent Rio Olympics, Wimbledon, Major League Baseball and more, and larger rigs used on major motion pictures from Braveheart and the Harry Potter series, to Avatar, Kingsman and Skyfall, Mark Roberts Motion Control Ltd. has been spearheading technological advances in camera robotics for decades.
THE ROLE
Based in the Department of Product Completion, this role is a key contributor to the company’s production of bespoke robotic equipment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wiring and assembly of special projects
- Creating wiring diagrams for special projects
- Passing completed projects to Final Assembly and Test
- Soldering and cable assemblies to the high standards.
- Creation of checklists and documentation for special projects, ensuring no products are undocumented
- Assembly and wiring of prototypes for R&D
- Maintaining electronic subassembly stock
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Ability to understand complex schematics and discuss technical issues with Designers
- Ability to fault-find and repair surface-mount and through-hole PCBs
- Experience in soldering small connectors such as D-type and Limos
- Experience of loading firmware into ICs
- Good communication skills with colleagues and suppliers alike
- A methodical, organized approach to stock control and documentation
- Can assemble prototype products, create schematics of cables (using Multisim), and BOMs
- Experience of RFQs, ordering from suppliers and managing a supply chain
- Experience with the documentation and check-lists
This PCB Test Engineer position is full time and available immediately. Salary commensurate with technical skill and experience.
