The University of Nottingham has an ambitious vision set out within its Global Strategy 2020 and associated People Strategy. A central pillar of our culture change activity with particular impact for our staff is our Athena SWAN gender equality programme.

The national Athena Swan Charter was introduced to recognise advancement of gender equality, especially relating to careers, in the Higher Education sector.  An early adopter and current institutional silver award holder, with twelve departmental awards, the University is now seeking to strengthen our Athena SWAN project team.

Working within the HR Specialist Services team we have a new fixed-term vacancy for which we seek excellent, experienced applicants with a strong background in HR and with a commitment to equality and culture change.

The role-holder will project-manage the submission of a new institutional award application and oversee implementation of our four-year action plan, including coordinating, monitoring and undertaking project activity and impact measurement; engaging with academic and professional service units; providing University-level support for the application process, and overseeing co-ordination of data management in relation to the Institutional Submission. The role-holder will also support University academic departments in creating and managing high quality departmental applications and action plans, through the development and embedding of appropriate central and local activity.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in project/programme management in a Human Resources related field. Experience in coordinating or contributing to charter mark submissions, such as Athena SWAN, will be a particular advantage, as will knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion best practice. As a highly proficient organiser, communicator and team-builder, skilled in both detail-oriented and ‘big picture' thinking, this role will provide you with the opportunity to support the delivery of important organisational change at a critical and exciting time for the University.

This is a full-time role offered on a fixed-term contract basis until 15 December 2017.
