Title: Senior Programme Officer - Corporate Services
Salary: £39,634 to £44,661 + Excellent Benefits
Hours: 36.5 hours per week
Location: Birmingham

Corporate Services ensures that all projects within the Investment Portfolio are managed and assured to the highest possible standard, in addition to supporting all Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) projects and programmes.

This role will require you to take the lead in providing a best in class programme management service for both the Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) PMO and the Central Planning Office to the various programme development and delivery teams, enabling a high standard of planning, delivery and assurance, by providing expertise, tools, guidance, advice & support on all aspects of programme management and programme management best practice.

Overseeing a team of initially 2 Programme Officers, focussing on the use of the best practice methodology (APM, PRINCE2, MSP, P30) and the approach to ensuring project performance metrics are captured and presented for decision making.

In addition, this role shall ensure that a fit for purpose programme management office service is provided to the Programme development and delivery teams ensuring that the organization project lifecycle, assurance model and supporting collateral match not only transportation projects but are scalable and relevant to other programmes and workstreams and enable confident decision making at all levels of management.

Accountabilities (Deliverables):
* To develop the monitoring, progression and reporting of all Devolution actions, milestones and risks
* To coach and mentor Local Authorities and Investment Programme projects through the Assurance Process and project performance reporting process
* To manage the forward plan for the Technical Appraisal Panels, schedule meetings and co-ordinate attendees; creating outputs for project teams and feeding into the Investment Advisory Group
* Support the PMO Manager and the Head of PMO and Projects with the communication strategy for the programme, in particular consultation material, reports and briefings for key stakeholders.
* Work with senior members of the various Programme Teams to ensure that the necessary activities are integrated and that there are no gaps / overlaps between the activities of the teams.
* Ensure that other Portfolio, Programme and Project reports (manual and automated) are generated in accordance with the annual reporting schedule and governance requirements.
