Software Engineer
Mark Roberts Motion Control Ltd, the world leading company in robotic camera and motion control equipment, is expanding and requires an experienced Visual C++ Software Engineer.
Celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, with state of the art robotics at major international sporting events such as the recent Rio Olympics, Wimbledon, Major League Baseball and more, and larger rigs used on major motion pictures from Braveheart and the Harry Potter series, to Avatar, Kingsman and Skyfall, Mark Roberts Motion Control Ltd. has been spearheading technological advances in camera robotics for decades.
THE ROLE AND KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
The position is in the Software Design section within the R&D Department, whose primary designs are pan/tilt and multi-axis robotic camera systems.
The role will primarily include working on the company's existing software, as well as writing software for controlling the company’s various electromechanical products and, depending on the specific skillset of the applicant, includes dealing with tasks ranging from customer facing GUI development to mathematical & control algorithms.
The candidate must be able to work well in a team environment, yet have the confidence to work and solve problems individually.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Proven track record of Visual C++ Experience is Essential
- MFC Essential
Advantageous
- Multithreading applications
- Real Time Development
- Vision Analysis / OpenCV skills
- QT and/or QML programming experience
- Experience of Texas Instruments Code Composer development environment
- Basic Electronics skills
- iOS and/or OSX development skills
- Robotics experience
- Experience within the broadcast, filming, gaming or robotics industries
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related Disciplines is preferred (Computer Vision, Robotics, Computer Graphics and other related Disciplines)
English Language Requirement
- Be able to communicate fluently
